Mapping the cuts: help build the true picture
From conversations with other organisations, Voluntary Sector North West knows that the true picture of the cuts is even more wide-ranging and hard-hitting than has already been reported, but that some groups are concerned about speaking up, in case it jeopardises remaining funding agreements. Since the launch of the Voluntary Sector Cuts project, almost £1.2 million of cuts to the sector in the North West have been recorded, and stories have been uncovered of vulnerable people and communities who will lose vital services as a result.
VSNW want to encourage you to contribute. Now is the time to be making the effects of the cuts known-the need for a clear picture of the impacts of current decisions, both in the North West and beyond, is more pressing than ever.
Please do report any cuts affecting your group - and please circulate the details of this important national project as widely as possible within your networks. The voluntary sector cuts website is : http://voluntarysectorcuts.org.uk/

Praise
Fiona spoke at length to WDP’s Chief Officer, Jayne Horton, and was full of praise for the quality of work undertaken by all the teams and commented favourably on the range of services provided at the re-furbished Centre for Independent Living. She also offered her support in promoting this summers Disability Awareness Day which will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
