Role of the Third Sector Partnership Team

The Third Sector Partnership Team offer a range of infrastructure support to third sector organisations and works closely with Warrington Council for Voluntary Service (CVS). 

The Third Sector Partnership Team is impartial, easily accessible and has links to all public and Third Sector organisations in Warrington.  However, we also understand the important role the private sector can play in supporting the Third Sector and we are establishing partnerships to look at how we can achieve this.

We take our work mandates from the Third Sector Policy Group whose membership is made up of representatives from the public and Third Sector and reports to the Warrington Partnership.

Our role is wide and varied, however, these are our main objectives:

• To support the Third Sector Policy Group in carrying out the recommendations from the third sector review and future work around the Third Sector agenda
• Provide a central contact point for all Third Sector enquiries
• Provide a secretariat service for meetings of the Third Sector Policy Group, Third Sector Partnership Assembly, Network Hub and associated working groups
• Organise and facilitate the biannual Third Sector Partnership Assembly
• Review the Local Compact annually through the Compact Working Group
• Drive the implementation of the Local Compact
• Administer the Local Compact (success stories, address compact compliance issues, etc)
• Review and administer the Codes of Practice that accompany the Local Compact, through the working group
• Recruit and provide support for Compact Champions
• Help and support Third Sector organisations to find and apply for funding
• Work with other council departments to identify council owned buildings suitable for transfer to Third Sector organisations
• Provide a support service to the Warrington Third Sector Network Hub
• Drive and support the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme
• Support the work carried out by other public sector bodies working with the Third Sector
